Based in folklore and often portrayed like a witch, La Befana is an old
lady that delivers gifts to children on the night of January 5.* Similarly to
Santa Claus parades, the town of Urbania in Italy celebrates the
coming of La Befana and organizes a parade that features people in
la Befana costumes, music and traditional songs. The festival usually
occurs between January 2 and 6.
